Legal Question in Family Law in Zimbabwe

Child was born 12 years ago and father has never taken responsibility whatsoever. He has never contributed to the child's costs. When asked he says he has no money. He was running a business and is always travelling in and out of the country yet he says that he has no money. Can I claim for child support since he is not formally employed? What documentation do I need to process the child support? The child is supposed to go to secondary school next year.

We were never married.

Yes go to the maintenence court.all you need to do is to prove the child's expenses then alledge that he is a person of means.
