Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Trinidad and Tobago

Hello myself and my three brothers, our mother passed away suddenly leaving no will, or father is deceased as well. What steps do we have to take to get all four of our names on the property?

Are the four brothers the only children of the parents?

On whose name is the property? Was it in mom and dad? Was it in joint tenancy or tenants in common?

On the assumption the property is in your mom's name alone or it was in mom and dad in joint tenancy

and the four are the only surviving children of your mom, then the following

1 one, two, three or all four children can apply for letters of administration for the estate of the mom. If any of the four is not applying then he has to give consent for the other/others to apply.

2 Make the application and obtain the grant

3 Transfer the property from mom to children by Deed of Assent
