Legal Question

assault 3rd degree

i slapped a lady (my husband's girlfriend) that was on my property and she had me arrested for assault 3rd degree. she provoked me with words about my husband and me. i have no criminal record and i am still married to my husband and her divorce is pending. how could she have me arrested when she was on my property?
