Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Child custody/child support

I have a court ordered child support order and visitation. My 8 year old daughter left to Sacremento CA., on june 9. I haven't received child support in 2 months except 72$ and his order is for 254$. Now he buys the tickets but he makes them depart from states that are 5 1/2 hours away, one way. Thats 130$ in gas there and 130$ back. How can I afford this with a total of 3 kids and noooo child support coming in from him? My court order does say I am responsible for getting her to the airport but what if the airport is 12 hours away next time. I guess what I am asking is if any lawyer out there would like to earn a little money to revise my visitation and child support money then please contact me via email. [email protected]

Thank You, --name removed--Allison

I agree with Mr. Wood. I think you should be able to get the judge to do something about this situation. If you are in the Mobile area, you can contact me and we can discuss it further.

Re: Child custody/child support

I will be glad to help you if you are close enough. If not, I will be glad to help you find an attorney. However, there will be fees and cost involved. If you can't pay you may still be able to get help. No Judge I have ever dealt with would require you to do what you are saying. If this comes up again before you get to court I would not do it. I would send him a certified letter telling him I was willing to obey the Order but specify the closest airport to you. If he refuses I would refuse to send them and make him file a contempt petition. I don't think you would be held in contempt for refusing such a crazy demand.

Good Luck,

Fred Wood
