legal information possible divorce
My husband left me after 39 years for a 37 year old. he used to pay me 1200 dollars a month but now he only pays what ever he wants. We are still currently married and have been for 40 years and 3 months. His new girlfriend has tried to change the beneficary which was promised to me from our bell south insurance. I want to know my rights and how much money he should really give me. I am 64 in august and holding down a 40 hour job but i dont think ill hold it down much longer i have a very low income even though i get a 392 dollar social security a month. Can you please help me.

obviously you can file for divorce and alimony which would provide for your support and maintenance. Due to the number of years of your marriage, it would appear you would get alimony, plus you are entitled to a rather large share of his retirement when that occurs. You should consult an attorney.
