Legal Question in Workers Comp in Alabama

W C is stalling

I was recently hurt on my job,and have been going to the docotr. At first it was thought I had pulled a muscle, but after still hurting so much, the doctor had a MIR done on me and it showed that I have ruptured 2 disc in my neck. The doctor is wanting me to see a nerosurgeon, but it seems workers comp is stalling on this, and will not agree to this. The doctor I have been seeing is the company doctor. As I told him the pain is getting worse and I need something done. I work for a well known store in Mobile. I have been taken off work and I am not receiving any money from Workers comp, nor have I heard from them since I was told what was rong with me. Can you tell me what my opitions are? I appreciate your help

Re: W C is stalling

I need to know some additional information such as when the injury occurred and how? The best way for you to handle it is to write a letter to the company (keep a copy and date it) - send it certified mail or hand deliver it and have them sign for it (keep a copy). The letter should request a panel of four neurosurgeons. By law, they have to provide you a panel of four physicians who do not practice within the same group. Please call me, toll free, if you need assistance - (888) 295-7409.
