Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Arizona

dog bite

my dog bit a freinds dog that i was house sitting for. i called the owner, they stated that they wanted their dog to go to the vet. the vet stated that the dog needed surgery, the owner was called and consented to the surgery. i paid the entire bill in full with the understanding the owner would be reimbursing me for the surgery. in addition, i took a day off of work to pick up and take care of the dog, after the owner had returned.

now the owner will not pay for the surgery bill-what should i do. should i let him not pay? is it worth my while to go after the 500.00 surgery bill? should i charge them for my day off, housesitting and care of the animal and split the bill? not really sure where to go with it-all i know is i lost a good freind over this issue

Re: dog bite

It may be worth your while since this is a small claims case. Whether you can charge for the other items is dependent on whether there was an agreement for you to be paid for doing so.
