Legal Question in Personal Injury in Arizona

notice of hearing on petition for appointment of conservator for minor

I am the mother to the minor. Dad has custody on paper, but he lives in New York. My daughter is 17 and she lives with my ex-mother-in-law, who she can't stand. This is a whole other story. The grandma is trying to get her money and I know this is her intention, so this is why she filed this petition. I want to file an objection to keep her from doing this. What should I do? My daughter does not want this, and she won't be 18 until May. The amount is $80,000 for her car accident.

Re: notice of hearing on petition for appointment of conservator for minor

I presume that there is a proposed settlement, with the grandmother as conservator of the funds. Do not miss the hearing. See an attorney. If you object to the petition, and if your daughter objects to the settlement or the petition, you need to appear at the hearing and object, but it would be best to get an attorney. See one at once.

This is the best I can tell you based on the limited facts presented in your question.
