Re: Taking Title

Any two people can take title to property as joint tenants with right of survivorship, only a married couple can take title as CPWROS. With CPWROS, upon the death of the first spouse, the survivor gets a stepped up basis on the value of the whole property (a great benefit with regard to taxes due on the sale of the property by the survivor).
