Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arizona

Marital Trust division

Parents have a marital trust. My dad passed away July 2000; mom is still alive. I'm the executrix for the estate & mom is confused about what assets to place in Trust A/Trust B. Mom is well taken care of through my father's arrangements, ins proceeds, social security, etc. Estate is valued somewhere between $600,000 - $1 million. Need help with how best to split the assets. Belongings include homes in two different states, jewelry, valuable collections, significant sums of cash/CDs/investments.

Your time and help is appreciated!

Re: Marital Trust division

This may not be the specific help you're looking for, but you should see an attorney and a tax accountant to come up with the best answer.

The answer will depend on the surviving spouse's needs and use of the property, as well as which assets are more likely to grow in value. There is no one right answer.
