Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arkansas

What will happen next?

I have signed up with a debt company for several credit cards that I owe on. One of the credit card companies had a private process server serve me with a summons filed in our civil division for the debt I owe them. Can you tell me what can/will happen to me? Can they garish my pay check etc.? I was with a different company and made monthly payments to them and they paid my creditors then about a year ago I went with this Debt company I am paying them every and the way I understand it they contacted all my creditors and made an agreement with them for me to pay them but the money is going into an escrow account. I just need someone to help me and explain to me what will happen to me. I can't afford to loose my pay check. I'am a sole provider of 2 children and tring my best to pay my debts.

Thanks

Re: What will happen next?

If someone gets a judgment against you, it is possible for them to garnish your wages, if you make enough money. I would immediately call this debt company that you are sending money to and see what happened there.

If this debt company isn't paying this crdit card, you may want to try to get your money back from them or see what other bills they aren't paying.

Also, you may still be able to work out a payment plan with the credit card company before they get a final judgment against you in court.

Whatever you do, contact these people immediately. You are better off keeping the communication open rather than just ignoring them now that they have filed a suit against you.
