Legal Question in Disability Law in California

Landlord retaliation

I asked my landlord for ''reasonable accomodations'' of the rules (to have a service animal). A week later my rent was raised with no explanation. I believe that this was retaliation. Is this retaliation?

Re: Landlord retaliation

If everyone's rent was raised, so can yours be. If only yours was raised, then you may have a claim of violation of the disability laws. You should try to resolve it with the landlord to find out why the raise. Then you can contact the Department of Fair Employment and Housing for help. Lawsuits are the last resort.
