what is the minimum age in calif to get a tatoo without parental consent?

Probably age 18, but you would not ask unless your parents are opposed and you think there will be a big argument once they find out about it. Since it is a permanent change in the skin, why not first try a temporary one. You can then see if you really like the design, if you feel good or bad about it, can chnage to a different desilgn, etc. If you tell your parents in advance perhaps you can get them to compromise on a temporary one and then they will be mor accepting of a permanent one. But remember that people will form a certain opinion of you and you will be stuck with that also for the rest of your life [definitely do not put anyone's name in the tatoo]. When I was growing up, only people in the military and those in jail or who should have been in jail had tatoos. When you look for a job you wil have to deal with old folks like me.
