prison guars rights

my husband was cought with taking a large amount of tabacco into a prison which he worked at what are his legal rights, by the way he was a prison guard

His rights are to defend himself against criminal charges, for which he will need to hire and pay for an attorney.

His rights are also to defend himself against termination or discipline proceedings in accordance with the rules and regs applicable to him. His union may or may not do so, depending upon the contract terms pertaining to this misconduct.
