Legal Question in Business Law in California

Form for Liabilty

Good Morning. We have a Electrical Contractor business and a job of ours had other Electricians before us and their work is not up to code therefore it has electrical issues. We need a letter stating that we are not liable for any prior electrical done before hand. Do you have a form for that.

Thank you.

Re: Form for Liabilty

It ought to be in your standard contract, now would be a good time to have an attorney review it. Remember, just like electricians, we attorneys sometimes have to clean up after people who attempted to do the work themselves. Take lots of pictures of the substandard work, and save the pictures along with a notation of the date and who took the pictures.

Separate form? No. Part of a thorough contract? Sure, and we can help you do it right for this job and in future. Feel free to contact me.

There really is no form for exactly your situation. We can provide you one at a minimal cost. We can also review your business for any potential other liability issues.
