You can bring a claim for unpaid compensation with the Labor Commissioner, and/or you can file civil suit. Either way, you must prove your claims, and oral contracts are tough. If they are accusing you of stealing, you will have to defend against that claim, and they could file criminal charges. Next time put the agreement in writing. That is what attorneys are for - to help people prevent this kind of dispute from happening.
