Legal Question in Business Law in California

Must I indicate if a product is refurbished?

Am I required to inform customers if the product I sell is refurbished? (and if so will having them sign a paper that indicates somwhere the product is refurbished work?) My business sells door to door if it matters.

Thanks

Yes, you should. Otherwise it is fraud if you lead them to believe it is new.

To sell something that has been refurbished as new is fraud. Waiting to see if they ask won't get you off the hook. You should advertise it as refurbished, and on a sales slip (or whatever else you might use) clearly indicate "Refurbished" next to the description of the product. Their signature on that document would be a good idea.
