Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

follow up to lemon law re: laptop

In regards to going to small claims, can I claim money for the negligence? Only getting my money back seems the minimum of what I want. For large corporations, how to you name and find the correct person to serve? HP and Best Buy have offices world wide. What would be my claim other than not honoring the warranty?

You can have a friend send the small claims plaintiff's claim by certified return receipt to Best Buy Co., Inc.'s president in Minneapolis [make sure to look up his name and put it on the envelope and return receipt], and complete the proof of service.

For HP, you'd need to have someone personally serve its registered agent whom you can find at http://kepler.ss.ca.gov/corpdata/ShowAllList?QueryCorpNumber=C2106969 . Good luck.
