Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Fraud

I purshased items from a store. The items were 'special' order and I had to pay in full in advance ($2500). The store closed two weeks later. They did not deliver on the items I ordered nor did they return my money. What are my options?

You can sue them. You can even allege fraud and sue for 3 times your damages. However, if they are closed, you will probably have a hard time collecting. You could try the DA's office or the police to see if they have had other reports of this. If there are, there is a chance, albeit slim, that criminal charges could be filed.
