Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

mechanic lien

I need instructions how to fill out a mechanic's lien correctly. A client owes me almost $ 9.000 in personal loans and services and I am not sure how to fill out the form.

Re: mechanic lien

A mechanic's lien can only be asserted if you provided work on a person's real property. There is a very strict time frame in which to do so.

If you've loaned money to your client and provided other kinds of services, you may have to file a lawsuit to collect. If you obtain a judgment, then you can record the abstract of judgment with the county recorder, and it will then serve as a lien against any real property in the county owned by the judgment debtor.
