Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

If I have paid a debt in full to a collection agency because I wanted it off my credit report, but before I paid the debt the agency contacted a family memeber by mail about the debt can I still sue the agency for a FDCPA violation if the debt has been paid?

Yes, so long as you didn't sign a release agreement waiving any potential claims.
