Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Small Loan

I loaned a friend a small amount $400 over a year ago and have

extended the loan from the end of February until the end of

April. I don't know if he's going to pay me back. What can I do. I

have emails and texts saved saying he would pay me back on top

of instant messages saved.

Re: Small Loan

The only thing you can really do is come end of April, send her a letter demanding payment of the money. If she does not repay you, file a small claims court action. For the kind of money you are talking about, with no written promissory note, it would be a waste of your time to retain an attorney to help you. Good luck, and I hope you don't have to pursue this any further come April.
