Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I won a small claims case against VCA Animal Hospitals. They have called me asking for me to submit a W-9 so they can cut a check. I am very apprehensive about sending them one since it has my social security # on it and I don't want to give it out.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do in order to get the payment.

I do have a w-9 for my non-profit, but this was a personal matter and doesn't involve the non-profit

Fill out a Writ of Execution and have the court clerk issue it. Then take the executed writ to the sheriff's civil process department and have them do a Till Tap. You will have to pay fees of maybe $50 but you will get it back. The sheriff will forcibly take the amount of the judgment plus fees from their cash register and then pay you. If they thereafter send you a W-9 in the mail, you might be required by the tax code to respond with your SS.
