Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
my boyfriend was arrested in jan 2013 for two weapons charges and loud ordinance, the weapons charges were dismissed. He was put on informal probation for one year which would have ended in jan 2014. He was pulled over and was arrested again for having a concealed weapon in his trunk in the gun lock box along with false vehicle registration in December. They booked and released him. The thing is he gave his brothers name because he was on probation. He just received notice in his brothers name that the DA picked up the charges and has to appear. When we looked online its shows is name as an AKA for the same case. Both charges listed are misdemeanor charges and there is no obstruction of justice charge. is he looking at jail time?
