Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My mother purposely flooded her upstairs bathroom by stopping up her bathroom sink and leaving for the day in order to collect $ from her home Insurance because she wanted new carpet & a jacuzzi tub in her bathroom. She openly admitted this to me, my husband & my aunt and then asking my husband if he would do the remodel for her for $4000. My husband agreed to do the work for her, he put in a jacuzzi tub, refinished her cabinets, laid tile in her bathroom & her walk in closet. When my mom received the insurance money she went on vacation to Utah spending every dime and refused to pay my husband. This is not the first time that she has purposely damaged things in her house to collect insurance money, she has done this countless times. My mom asked my husband to do something to her air conditioning unit on her roof to make it look like it was damaged so that she could have her home insurance replace it with a brand new unit. When my husband refused she was livid and she has put me & my family through pure hell the past 4 years even filing a false restraining order against me to keep me from saying anything about her committing Insurance Fraud! What can I do to stop her?

First I have to tell you his seems like sour grapes to me. You know she commits insurance fraud. You admit that your husband would do the work and presumably profit it from it, he did not get paid and you're upset. I would think you knew or should have known that if she rips off an insurance company she will rip off the family.

Insurance fraud is a crime. Call the police but be careful you may implicate your husband and yourself. Insurance companies don't like fraud report it to them. Last but not least how about staying away. I am not a family counselor but the grief you claim you have seems as much self inflicted because you keep being sucked into it.

You don't say how she made your life miserable but you can control the relationship.
