Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Real estate license

I am trying to get my real estate license and it states that you have to put your convictions down. My license was suspended when I was 20 yrs old for having an open alcohol container but I was not driving. Last year I received a DUI but was not convicted because my alcohol level was below .8. Do I still need to state these on my real estate form?

Re: Real estate license

You have to state prior convictions, not prior charges that did not result in a conviction. Also, note that all traffic tickets are criminal charges. So you will also have to list any traffic convictions, unless the questions specifically exclude minor traffic offenses.

Also note that you may be able to get your criminal record expunged, or even better get the open container charge reduced to an infraction.
