Sexual batery against my son

The man was arrested last week, the charges were sexual batery. against my son, he is a minor.. why do oyu think the charges don't say aginst a minor? can I do a civil suit? if so should i do it now or before he has his prelim hearing on his upcoming court date and trys to plead to lessor offence or should i wait? the offendor is very very wealthy and i am afraid he will get away with doing this to my son without proper punishment, I want a civil suit to make him pay for what he did.. am I fighting a losing battle if I have no money for a good lawyer he has millions and can offor the best im sure....what should i do?

You can file a civil suit regardless of what happens in the criminal case, as long as you have evidence against the guy; the sooner the better. Contact local attorneys for help. If the case is strong enough, they may do it on a contingency.

Based on what you have said you should have little trouble finding a lawyer willing to take this case on a contingent fee.

Your right to sue the defendant civilly has nothing to do with whether and how the prosecutors charge him. You should start looking for attorneys now, and let the one you select decide when the time is right to file your civil suit.
