can a file a lawsuite or complaint against city

I live in Westminsterm,CA.Two months ago, I got call from city inspection stated that someone in the neighbor complaint that I have the garage used as a habitable space. They come down for inspect and I show them the garage door can open,no one live there. NOw I got another call from them stated that someone report that I have people live in the garage. Can I do anything about this? sue the city for discrimination?

I can sue the complaint because their name is anonymous or confidential!Please, help this is not fair.I do not have time to quit work to stay home to show the garage evrytime someone out there feel like to cause trouble.best regards

You can't sue the city for doing its job. It's probably a neighbor or someone with whom you've had a dispute of some kind -- a former girlfriend/boyfriend, perhaps. Perhaps you can get the name of the complainant under a freedom of information request.

You don't have to open your garage (or any part of your property) without a search warrant or inspection warrant signed by a judge. Tell them to get a warrant and come back.
