Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

Government Employment - age discrimination

I had been looking for

employment in various

private and public sectors - I

noticed that government jobs

often list an age (say, like

21-35years) as a

prerequisite for applying,

even though similar jobs in

the private sector have no

(can't have) such limit (ie.,

engineering, clerical,

non-military employment).

Given the government can't

discriminate based on Race,

Sex or Gender, why are they

permitted to discriminate

based on age?

I am certain that you are describing positions as a law enforcement or correctional officer where age limits are allowed, for example the federal max age for LEO positions is 37, this is set by law.

Because our out of control, socialist government does as it darn well pleases. Remember 'it' gets to make the rules over us mere Proletariat worker bees.
