Legal Question in Elder Law in California

executor fee

my husband is executor for his uncle and has been very diligent in assisting all matters of his uncle's care for the past two years. Question ..is there any compensation for this as we have no idea how long beyond these past two years, this time requirement will remain as needs arise. This commitment does require sacrifices from my husbands regular job ..he is doing a thorough job of logging all apts. times, taxes paid, finances, etc in a very trusted way. Question ..is there any compensation legally alloted for my husbands integrity and hours spent being ''on-call'' on nearly a daily basis? (he is listed on the will/trust with a little inheritance and is requested and stated to be the executor and has durable power of attorney and I th ink for health care as he does pay his bills, taxes, etc and keeps all records.

Re: executor fee

He's not entitled to any payment unless acting under a court appointment as administrator, or unless the will specifies the payment. He'd better be keeping proper accounting, that's his obligation and necessity to avoid being sued.
