Legal Question in Family Law in California

Thank you for the answer. I have another I have a 16 year old and pay half of his school, and clothing whatever he needs he comes and stays with me almost every weekend. I make approx $65K a year and the soon to be ex makes the same. I have been paying her (have proof) $800 is this close to what I would be paying or is it too much? and I know you can't answer exact. Also we have a house and a truck and a motorcycle together do we sell all of these items I was being I feel more than fair now she is insistant I keep paying $800 for the 16 year old? I have been paying her for both boys 22,16 for 2 years now thinking it was the right thing to do. HELP this is a great resource!

You need to bear in mind, however, that all of this is theoretical unless and until one of you files for divorce. Until you do so, your income, hers, all your assets, etc. are jointly owned community or quasi-community property. So there is no legal division of anything. Who pays how much for what is legally the same as if you were still together.
