Legal Question in Family Law in California

contempt of court

Hello and thank you for your response in advance. I was in court in Los angeles county yesterday for contempt of court that my ex filed because of 3 months of child support arrears.

I was supposed to have court today for modification of support OSC because my ex-wife is currently making more money than me and not enrolled in a Ph. D. program (She is supposed to be getting spousal support for education and child support) we both physical/legal custody. I have 51% time share. I am dire-straits financially and don't want to go to jail. I am a struggling professional and this could ruin me. I don't have money for an attorney. She is currently making more money than I am. What can I do?? I have a contempt of court trial for 7/31/08

You can try legal aid. Based on your financial position they may be able to provide low or no cost legal help.
