Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorce

I am on here to try to get some help for my dad. 3 years ago this Feb, my dad got married. At the time his wife lived in Utah and he lived in Ca. They were married in Vegas. They still live apart today. Shelied to my dad about many things going into the marriage and it will never work out. She has stolen from both of us and lied about being pregnant. I just want to know is there any way for my dad to get a divorce and not have to give her anything since they never lived together and never bought anything together or is it possible to get it unulled since they have never lived together and she lied to get him to marry her. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Re: Divorce

Your father needs to file a petition for dissolution to start the process for divorce. He might be eligible for summary dissolution but I would need more facts.

Re: Divorce

You should talk to an attorney about an annulment, that would be your Father's best protection. The attorney can determine whether an annulment is appropriate and available. If they have never lived together there may be no obligations, but we need more information. An attorney's consultation is essential in order to give any good advice. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
