Legal Question in Family Law in California

My girlfriend just gave birth. The drug screen came back positive. Myself or her ex-boyfriend could be the father. What are my rights as the potential father. If she is mine, how do I prevent her from getting placed in foster care .and placed in my care

If you have a doubt about your paternity of your girlfriend's newborn, ask that you take a DNA test. If you have questions about how you would go about establishing, or defending against, paternity of the child, you need to talk to an attorney that is experienced in the field of Family Law.
