Legal Question in Family Law in California

what do I do now?

we have all of our legal docs done.We have been infront of the judge 3 times for all of issues. We both are representing our selves. Judge said at last hearing,'' you might need to get a lawyer Mr. ----

'' Now what does that mean? Do I need to get a lawyer also? Why did the judge make such a comment like that to him only? Judge is not making a ruling until we both make a decision on the debt of the house, ( I am not on the mortgage nor on the loan, just on the deed of trust).Judge told him it is his debt because I gave him the home.

Re: what do I do now?

If a judge recomended a lawyer, it probably meant the issues are getting significantly more complicated and what the other party is asking for, would be more than he is capable of handling himself. If you are in opposition to this, then you may want to defend against this vigorously also.

As always please consult an attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck!
