Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am not married and want to seperate from my sons father. I live in California(sd) currently but if I leave, it would be moving to Arizona where my mother is. How can I get full custody of my child? And can I just leave the state or do I have to file something here first before leaving?

Your case is consided a "move away" case by the California courts. If you leave without court orders peemitting the child to relocate to Arizona, you run the risk of father getting court orders for the child's return.

You should file and serve a paternity petition along with a request for the child to move.

This is a complicated area of law that deserves the attention of an experienced family law attorney.
