Legal Question in Family Law in California

I received a judgment in Arizona. My child support is paid up and my son is twenty-two now. San Diego is still garnishing over #300.00 per month from my disability check and my part time job check also. Is this legal? Please help.

You need to find out where the originating child support order came from and whether it is California or Arizona which controls. The laws of each state may be different on how long a child support order lasts. If the child is now 22, it seems like the child support should terminate, unless you have arrears which are still being paid. I would contact the department of child support for the originating state and county and see whether they can have the order terminated and have you repaid if you indeed did overpay child support.

or self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
