Legal Question in Family Law in California

I recently married and my husband owes a lot of child support. My question is...can they come after me for what he owes? I make a little more then he does but have children of my own to support.

Only to the extent of money in joint accounts. New spouse's income is never used to calculate (except to the extent it affects tax rates and deductions) or pay child support, but money in any account he has legal right to withdraw from can be taken.

Put your paychecks in an account that your new husband cannot withdraw from. That will protect the account from his creditors.
