Legal Question in Family Law in California

My wife and I split up 6 years ago and she filed for Legal Separation and divorce. 3 years later we got back together without completing the divorce (I believe). We have now separated for good and would like to go through with the divorce, but now on different terms. How do I find out where everything is in the divorce process? Where would I go to get a copy of the Legal Separation? of the divorce? if she has filed for a new divorce or she started up again with the old paperwork?

You can go to the courthouse to find the documents, but it probably doesn't matter what they say. You are going to have to start all over.

If the court on its own motion did not dismiss the pending pleadings, there's a possibility that you could resume the case on those papers however, amended pleadings would have to be filed to reflect the reconciliation period and separation times.
