Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Do I have a lawsuit

my father passed away 11 years ago, and as his only child, leaving me to be the heir to his estate. In his estate, were properties and assets that he was left by his late uncle, that were to go to my grandmother upon my father's death. The assets were supposed to be split between the two of us, she receiving those belonging to my uncle, and I receiving those belonging to my dad (his retirement funds, savings/bank account, jewelry, Life insurance policies, etc). But I received nothing, instead my dad's brother (a drug addict) tried to forge a will saying all assets went to my grandmother (a gambler), whom he had great influence over, and as a result they blew it all, leaving me nothing. Due to the knowledge of foul play, the attorney over the estate quit. My father told me, awhile before his passing, that if anything were to ever happen to him, that I'd have no worries financially. He also said I had $40,000 to start my life with after graduating from college. Here I am 23 years old, just graduated from college with nothing whatsoever. I am now finally at an age where I can pursue this matter. Do I have a lawsuit?

Re: Do I have a lawsuit

Even if the statute of limitations has not expired, which it probably has, you described that they 'blew' everything. Thus, if they have nothing, that is what you could collect if you were able to sue and win. You should have pressed criminal charges and filed civil suit at the time.
