Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Mechanic Negligence

Four days ago I had my alignment checked and front brakes serviced at a mechanics shop. During their test drive the right brake caliper broke off and had to be replaced (their cost). Two days ago the left caliper was loose (bolt was mssing or rattled loose). What sort of actions can I take, I feel like my life was put at risk by this faulty work?

Re: Mechanic Negligence

Have the left caliper fixed and don't go back to the place. Also, you can report them to the CA Dept. of Consumer Affairs.

It may have been but if you weren't injured, your remedy is to get the work done correctly, either there or at a different shop with them paying the bill. Sue in small claims if you have to.
