Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Money Owed Me

I live in California and the people that owe me money ($5000.oo)from a personal loan live in Colorado. Can I file in Calif or do I have to File in Colorado? Would I have to go to court in Colorado? or would the defendents have to come to my town?

you get to file where the defendants are located, or where the loan was made.

It depends where the agreement was entered into. However, it might be more costly to bring the lawsuit in California since you'd probably have to enforce it in Colorado, unless the defendants have assets to levy in CA.
