peronal property

I have a recepit for a tv and laptop giving to me to settle a debt, the other party is claiming I knew it was stolen from her ex husband and he will be suing me for it, is he allowed to do that?

If she did not own the property she could not transfer an interest in the property to you. He will have to prove that the ex wife did not have an ownership interest in the property. You should contact this lady and get more information from her regarding her ownership interest.
