Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Short story, I traded in my vehicle for a new vehicle. Signed over liability so that vehicle could be paid off by dealer which payoff occurred on mar 31. A payment for my previous vehicle was posted on April 4, resulting in 8 NSF fees of 232.00 and no return of my car payment as of yet. Is there anything I can do about this?

Either the bank failed to apply the payoff and has violated the fair debt collection laws, or the dealership didn't make the payoff and has defrauded you. As between the two I surmise that the fault lies with the dealership. Start writing certified letters.
