Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

getting married to a korean citizen

i am a u.s. citizen (of korean origin) and will be marrying a korean citizen. she was staying in the states on a student visa until recently when she returned to korea. we will be getting married but are not sure what is the best way to get her green card quickly. i will be flying out to korea in a couple weeks and need to decide:

1. will getting married in korea and applying for the green card there be better than getting married in america?

2. my understanding is that if we get married in korea and start the immigration process there, she will not have her travel visa available until her green card comes out. true?

3. how long will the process take before she can come back to america?

considerations are:

1. we want her to be back in the states by december of this year permanently.

2. we want to start the process so that she can gain permanent status quickly so that she will not have travel restrictions to visit her family back in korea.

any advice and detailed information would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much.

Re: getting married to a korean citizen

Get engaged in Korea, get her fiancee visa...then she should come here to get married and apply for permanent residency.
