Transfer of H1B

I wanted to know, what the sequence of events should be for an H1B transfer

I am moving from california to texas, .. and am presently on H1B Status, ...

I have a job offer from a firm in texas, which i would like to accept.

1. accept the offer

2. ask them to apply for H1,

3. when the application is recieved , ... then am i suppose to give my 2 week notice to the old company, ........

4 and then work for the new company

please help me as to how one should plane this move, ..

yes, the scenario you gave sounds right. the only word of caution I may give is if your case is one that is not particularly strong, that you may end up in some trouble if your H-1B does not get ultimately approved and you are no longer with the original employer that has your H-1b.
