Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

work permit expiring

I am married to a U.S. citizen in the process of adjusting my status, never been illegal, came in as a F-1 student. We've been married for almost 3 yrs, INS lost my paperwork the first time around, so I'm starting over. My work permit is expiring next month, and I haven't applied for a new one yet, I have a very good job now, and don't want to lose it, is there a way to extend the work permit? or a way to get one in a month? I saw the expedite processing, but I don't have the money for the fee, so that's not an option for me.

thanks,

Nicole

Re: work permit expiring

Instead of starting over you should file a writ to force INS to adjudicte your case ASAP!!! why should you refile? and, if you re-file there is no way to expedite.
