Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Marrying on C1/D visa

My girlfriend has a C1/D visa for 3 more months (she works on a cruise ship) & we meet once or twice a week at the port. I want to marry her in the summer. Can she adjust her status here or does she have to leave the US & return as a fiance K-1? Is there any specific restriction regarding this visa type or is it a simple I-485? Thank you.

Re: Marrying on C1/D visa

She has to come back to the U.S. with a fiancee visa (K-1 visa) in order to adjust her status to permanent residence.
