Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Adult Video Waiver

I am going to be in an adult video and will have to sign an age waiver and also distribution rights over to the company setting it up. What kind of document can I draft that would allow me to be notified anytime my video is used / posted online and also allow me to purchase the rights to my own video at some time (in case I want to remove myself from the industry)?

Re: Adult Video Waiver

As a purely legal matter, a "rider" to the agreement you sign with the production company could do what you propose.

As a practical matter, the producer will never agree.

the investment in shooting, editing, distributing, etc., is significant, and the producer won't agree to anything that could later tie his hands, or involve additional cost, recordkeeping, etc.

As far as being notified whenever the video is posted online, you might look into setting up some "google alerts" to automatically notify you anytime your name, or the film's title appears online. It won't be a perfect solution, but it's a good way to keep an eye on things.

Once the video is out there, you will never "remove" yourself. Are you sure this is something you want to do?
