I have a invention idea. I need help with how to patent my idea. Which patent do i need to protect my invention,but will allow me to sell my idea to a company and receive royalties?

First of all, ideas are not patentable. An embodiment of an idea -- an enabled invention -- may be patentable. All patentees may license or assign their patent rights to make, use, sell, and inport the patented invention.
